Covid-19 and Vitamin C

High dose Vitamin C is being used for treating covid-19 infections in the critical care units of hospitals in Wuhan, Lombardy, and New York City. As of this writing, these are the three hardest hit locales in this global pandemic. I believe covid-19 might just be the event that raises the profile of high dose vitamin C for treating infections, and that will cause an earthquake in the business of healthcare.

Sources

The information in the previous paragraph comes from two recent webinars that my sister invited me to listen in on:

[The first link is to a site that has this webinar — I couldn’t find a link directly to the webinar.]

My sister is a brilliant naturopathic doctor, and the presenters in these webinars also practice in that field, also known as orthomolecular medicine.

Study Results

Bottom line of the Chinese studies: Give critical care covid-19 patients 1 gram of ascorbic acid (the technical name for “Vitamin C”) per hour in the form of an IV drip, and those patients live and get released from the hospital 5 days earlier on average.

Basically, if your grandma was part of the Chinese double-blind study shown in the image, I hope for you that she wasn’t randomly placed in the placebo group (which would mean she died or is still struggling for life on a ventilator).

“Healthcare” Industry Controversy

You can buy 3 pounds of ascorbic acid on Amazon for $39 and get it shipped to you (in the US) in less than a week. Then you, like me who doesn’t have an IV setup at home, can just take the ascorbic acid powder orally, dissolved in water.

According to the first webinar cited above (and my own experience discussed below), we can enjoy more than a “good enough” therapeutic effect taking ascorbic acid orally versus the “gold standard” IV method used in the hospitals.

Think about it: If $39 of ascorbic acid can give you at least two years of protection against covid-19, what would that mean for our pirate pharma companies and our blood-sucking health insurance industry?

Well, check out the following story describing both the Vitamin C studies I mention above, as well as  efforts of the American Healthcare Industry to sabotage that information, given the cat is now out of the bag, and it’s too late to squelch this good news: News Media Attacks Vitamin C Treatment of COVID-19 Coronavirus [VIDEO]

My Experience

About 20 years ago, I used to regularly attend a meeting in Palo Alto called the “Smart Life Forum”. Most of the audience and the speakers were older folks. Discussion was about various topics in orthomolecular medicine.

One of the luminaries of that group was Dr. Robert Cathcart. This kindly old man was “Mr. Vitamin C”. His paper on using ascorbic acid to “bowel titration” in his medical practice is still on the web.

Dr. Cathcart passed away some time ago. I wish he had lived to see this coming day of  personal vindication for himself. Although he was adored during his lifetime by his patients and his colleagues in the field, he didn’t seem to receive nearly the sort of widespread recognition and acclaim that was very much deserved.

Anyway, from these Palo Alto meetings and from Dr. Cathcart, I got the following protocol:

  1. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of ascorbic acid (= about 5 grams) in a glass of water and drink it
  2. Repeat that on an hourly basis
  3. Stop when your stomach starts to gurgle

Dr. Cathcart’s research showed that healthy people can go through only 1-3 rounds of this protocol (5-15g of ascorbic acid) before reaching “bowel titration”. That’s a nice technical term for “peeing out of your butt”.

Don’t worry about that. It doesn’t last. It’s not like you’re sick. You just took too much Vitamin C and your body dumped it.

How Do I Know I’m Not Sick Right Now?

Two ways:

  1. My Fitbit watch data shows that my current resting heart rate is the same as it’s been for months (i.e. it’s not rising)
  2. I can tolerate only two rounds of the Cathcart ascorbic acid protocol (i.e. 10g of Vitamin C). If I take 15g, I reach “bowel titration”.

Now here’s the really cool thing. If I do get sick — let’s say I contract covid-19 — then when I do this vitamin C protocol, I’ll find that I can take significantly more than 10g of ascorbic acid before reaching bowel titration. This is what Dr. Cathcart describes in his paper and what I have experienced myself.

That is, I might be asymptomatic, but still be infected with the covid-19 virus. Yet I’ll know that my body is fighting something — whether that something is covid-19 or something else altogether — because my body is tolerating more than my healthy baseline of 10g of ascorbic acid.

That event — my body tolerating > 10g of ascorbic acid in the protocol — will put me on an even higher alert than the one into which this “shelter in place” order has put all of us.

Summary

Hopefully, this high dose vitamin C protocol will do for me this time what it has always done for me over the past 20 years. And that is the following:

So long I as start the ascorbic acid protocol at the very onset of the symptoms (or even earlier), and continue it through the illness, then my symptoms (cough, fever, chills, aches, etc. for covid-19) will be muted or silent for the duration of the illness.

In other words, mega-dose Vitamin C might just be the El Doradan “magic pill” that the pharma companies have been seeking for the past 70 years.

But those criminals can’t patent Vitamin C. And a multi-year 3-pound supply of it costs $39 on Amazon.

The subject matter of this post has been true and well known long before this current covid-19 pandemic. But it’s been crucial knowledge pushed into the shadows by you-know-who.

The justified panic of this pandemic is finally pulling this “ancient” knowledge back into the light of day where it belongs.

So there is a light at the end of this tunnel that we all are in.

This is useful and timely information. Good to have a reminder of the effectiveness and importance of Vitamin c.

Here’s what bugs me. The CDC and regurgitated by CNN, said that there is no evidence that garlic and vitamin C protect against corona virus. DUH!!!! Of course there isn’t. What epidemiologist is going to track that info now? At least they don’t say “Don’t do it” or “It isn’t advisable”. I guess that’s progress.

Also, the mask situation is weird. I’m sick of hearing: “Face masks are ineffective against corona virus transmission if you are healthy. Only use them if you are sick”. I wish they would say what is true: “Please don’t use masks if you are healthy and reserve them for health workers and sick COVID patients at home and their families”. Taiwan has it right and they did everything right, and now all their kids are back in school with face masks and you see pics of people on the streets in Hong Kong preventing resurgence with face masks. I for one will be using a mask and gloves to go grocery shopping once every 3 weeks, because if we get COVID here in this tiny rural community with minuscule medical resources and no ICU units, we’re hooped.

Will the coconut oil work? Hell I don’t know, but coconut oil is an antimicrobial, and at the very least, your teeth and gums will be healthy! I’m going to start doing it today and every day.

Interesting stuff Kathy. Yeah, I’m pondering all the massive systems — e.g. media (e.g. CNN, NYT, etc.), health care (Aetna, Pfizer, etc.), … — that, one day, might just up and melt right before our eyes like Lehman Brothers did back in 2008. When ordinary people like are feeling enraged just listening to banal coverage on CNN, something’s up.

My friend, Tony Fenwick, who was the person who reminded me that a raised resting heart rate is an indication of illness even if there are no symptoms, just sent me this study which confirms this dynamic: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/landig/article/PIIS2589-7500(19)30222-5/fulltext#seccestitle140

Yup. Seems obvious. But the issue is the general availability of masks. When they’re unavailable, clearly health workers and openly sick people are top priority for masks. When they are widely available, everybody should use them in public. It was dumb to tell people they didn’t need masks at all in the earlier circumstance. Messages I heard was “if you have a mask, give to health care workers, unless you’re symptomatic”.
